India Kawasaki Motors (IKM) initiated its manufacturing venture in Chakan, Pune, with a primary focus on assembling popular bikes imported in CKD conditions. The Chakan plant played a crucial role in the assembly process. Subsequently, IKM embarked on the journey of Indianizing their renowned Ninja 300 model and introducing the locally designed and manufactured W 175, showcasing the prowess of their talented Indian engineers.
Facing a unique challenge in marketing communication, IKM grappled with the decision of obtaining high-quality bike photographs. Traditionally, their Japanese principals provided them with such images. However, with the shift in manufacturing to India, IKM faced the dilemma of either transporting bikes to Japan for photography or achieving similar quality results locally. Unsure about the outcome compared to their Japanese counterparts, IKM sought the expertise of Team Genesis.
Unlike most agencies that typically head to Mumbai for international-standard outputs, Team Genesis accepted the challenge to conduct the photography in Pune. This decision aimed at maintaining secrecy before the bike launch and eliminating the need for transportation. The goal was not only to match the quality of Japanese photographs but to surpass it. Officials from IKM, accompanied by their Japanese directors, actively participated in the photoshoot.
Team Genesis diligently worked to ensure the final output not only met but exceeded expectations. After post-processing, IKM officials were thoroughly satisfied with the results. The photographs were then sent to Japan for approval and garnered excellent appreciation from the Japanese counterparts.
This successful collaboration marked the beginning of a long-standing partnership, with Team Genesis conducting photoshoots for IKM for the past four years. Each time, the team received accolades for their work.
